Red (sockeye) salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) filleted in the old style with a spreader stick hangs to dry at a fish camp on Six Mile Lake near Nondalton, Alaska, adjacent to Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, where the traditional subsistence ways of catching and preserving salmon as they return from the sea in mid July are still practiced today. NOT FOR USE BY THE MINING INDUSTRY.
